Feeding the Homeless

So today our church cooked & served food for the homeless. Declan's first comment this morning was "we are going to feed the homeless so they don't die"! He did a great job helping to get things ready. Josie served brownies and did a great job and commented about how she wanted to serve dessert the next time we do this (2 more times this summer and possibly more).

I hope my kids will see that life is not about having everything we want, but that God provides everything we need.

Friday

I took the day off and it was wonderful! I love having a job where I don't feel shunned when I take some time off. Declan had a follow up appt with the ENT. 2 weeks ago he had to have his nose cauterized so this was a follow up. Then the kids and I hit the pool, ran some errands and hit the pool again. Unfortunately the water felt more like bath water so there wasn't much relief from the heat!

Lunch with Friends

I had lunch today with my fabulous friend Shan! We have been friends for what seems like forever. We met in '95 at the UofA. I was in her wedding and she was in mine. It is amazing to see what God has done in our lives and the women we have become! We have encouraged each other, cried with each other and had a lot of laughs. She has the sweetest spirit and I enjoy and appreciate her friendship!

Life is short! Enjoy the journey and the people God puts in your path!

Summer

This will be a challenging summer for me. The kids will be with their dad "full-time". I will see them on Thursdays and every other weekend. As much as I'm looking forward to the break I miss them already...

Declan - his laugh, the spark in his eyes, singing along to the radio, cuddling in the comfy chair, love of super heros
Josie - her smile, creativity, imagination, love of dancing & singing, attention to detail, brilliant mind

My prayer is that their time with their dad will be good and I will appreciate their return in August.

Sundays

Since I attend church on Saturday nights, Sundays have become this wonderfully peaceful day, where there is no reliance on the clock. I watch CBS Sunday Morning (a must see!) and wonder where the day will take me. I usually have chores and errands to do in order to prepare for the week and it depends on whether the kids are with me or with their dad. Today they are at their dad's, since it is father's day. I've got Pandora internet radio playing (fabulous) and the sun is shining. God is good!

The Beginning

So here it is...my first post. My hope is that this will be a place to share my thoughts and what God has been teaching me. Of course I'll include pictures of the kiddos and what we have been experiencing in this journey called life. Enjoy & God Bless!
