Josie's 8th B-day Sleepover
For Josie's birthday this year, she wanted a sleepover. So we invited some girls from her class and her after school care. The girls arrived on Friday night at 6 p.m. We had pizza, played games, played dress up, made ice cream sandwiches, opened presents, painted our nails, jumped on the trampoline, did sidewalk caulk on the driveway and started watching a movie at midnight. Needless to say by 1 a.m. I was ready for bed (actually I was ready at 10) and there were still 2 girls awake. I let them know I was heading to bed and to wake me if they needed anything. At 7:30 a.m. I was awakened by whispering and giggling (oh how I remember those days) and 3 were up and ready for the day. We had donuts for breakfast and played some more until parents arrived. Overall, it was a huge success and Josie had a great time! I'm still undecided on whether I want to do it again, although the other day Josie mentioned she wanted to have a sleepover for her birthday next year!:)

1st Day of 3rd Grade
Thankfully Josie does great when it comes around to the 1st day of school. When we arrived at school, she seemed like it would be okay to just drop her off, but I said I wanted to walk her to class, and she agreed. As we walked, quite a distance to the 3rd & 4th grade hallway, she held my hand and tears started to form in my eyes. I began to realize how grown up she had become. She knew her way around and felt completely comfortable being back in the routine. She allowed me to take some pictures and help her put her supplies & books away. She was ready for me to leave so she could conquer the 3rd grade!
Ready for Mrs. Brady's 3rd grade class!
Mom, do you really need to take a picture of me at my desk?
A flashback to 2nd grade - ready for Mrs. Rager's 2nd grade class!
Mom, seriously, do you need to take a picture of me at my desk?

Davis Family Fun
My dad's side of the family got together to celebrate some birthdays. Josie, Aunt Deb & my Dad all have birthdays within 3 weeks of each other. We grilled out, ate cake & ice cream, opened presents and hit the lake on a pontoon boat.

Papa Bud (my grandpa), letting Josie drive the boat!
